Ethereum the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capital reached a new all-time high today with a price of $3,188. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin now has more than $1 billion worth of Ethereum in his wallet with the recent price surge.

Vitalik holds this whole amount in a single personal wallet. With this achievement, he becomes one of the world’s richest men. His Ethereum address was disclosed by Vitalik in October 2018. Present-day he holds close to 333,520 Ethereum in his wallet. He also revealed that he has few more wallets with a small amount of Ethereum comparing to this wallet. He further revealed that the largest address holds donations to charity as well.

As the price of the Ethereum reaches all-time highs the community closely monitors the addresses of the co-founder for large sell-offs. However, Vitalik has validated that he is a holder more than few times. In August 2020 Vitalik Buterin sold 13,333 Ethereum for a total of $5.2 million. The price of Ethereum was hovering around $390 per coin at the time.

According to Etherscan Vitalik Buterin’s wallet is ranking at 22nd among most valued on the Ethereum ecosystem. The most valuable wallet is the Wrapped Ether wallet which has a net worth of $22.1 billion with 7 million Ethereum. It is more than 6 percent of the total Ethereum supply. Ethereum 2.0 contract wallet holds the 2nd largest wallet and it holds $1.3 billion (4.1 million ETH) in Ethereum.

Vitalk is famous for his special donations to the community. He unveiled that he sold an undisclosed amount of Ethereum when the price was hovering around $700 per coin and donated to devs & grants.

He is not the only founder of a blockchain famous for sell-offs. The co-founder of Ripple – Jed McCaleb has a background in selling his holdings. McCaleb sold over 60 million Ripple this month securing him $95.4 million in sales.
